Auditing
The primary purpose of the seminar’s auditing committee is to provide oversight of the financial reporting process undertaken by seminar, along with ensuring there is compliance with the policies and regulations bestowed upon each member of the seminar.
The committee seeks to assess whether financial statements are complete and fairly presented in all aspects of the financial position in regards to the seminar. They continuously seek reasonable assurance about the financial statements as a whole to make sure that it is free from material misstatement due to fraud or error.
The saying; “one of the great mistakes is to judge policies by their intentions rather than their results” by one Mr. Milton Friedman, goes without saying much. The auditing committee has established themselves with the proper attitude and responsibility that will accomplish exactly what required of them.
Executive
The Sponsorship and Relations Committee is given the responsibility of seeking financial assistance in the form of sponsorship, spearheaded by Chairperson, Niccolai Ennis and Vice Chair, Asheka Williams, to offset the expenses involved in hosting these events. Therefore we implore your kindness of your organization for a donation, in the form of cash or kinds.
We believe that your involvement as a sponsor will have a long-lasting benefit well beyond the close of this event as you collaborate with us and members of the community.

Research and Publication
The Research and Publication committee’s main aim is to conduct appropriate research on the Conference theme and present the findings in a timely manner for the Conference magazine and the Conference participants.
The research committee along with the conference coordination committee, worked in unison to research, create and implement a theme for the seminar’s launch and conference day.
They are also responsible for the quality of research questions, also provide a sense of direction for the seminar’s print and electronic publications which includes: the newsletter and the magazine for the seminar. In addition, strategically planning and developing the seminar’s current and future publications deemed necessary by the committee’s facilitator for the seminar.
This committee has been very active in its endeavours as winners of the walk-a-thon event, and also the struggles of coming up with research questions each week. It proved difficult at times to find quality research questions each week for group presentations, not to mention the conference day theme. Despite a few challenges this semester, it was very much a prosperous one.





Accounts
The goal of the accounting committee is to design and implement internal control systems for effective decision-making and accountability.
The accounts committee basically ensures policies and procedures for financial transactions are documented in a professional manner, giving the seminar body weekly updates necessary to ensure the ‘assets’ of our seminar are correctly accounted for. For efficiency, the accounting committee ensures that a clear communication of the seminar’s financial position is done and also ensures the full compliance of the budget and allocation of resources toward the accomplishment of the seminars goals.
In a nutshell, they design policies and documentation for effective record keeping and procedures for handling money and other resources.
Marketing and Fundrasing
For the marketing and fundraising committee, they are held accountable for the failure or success of all projects undertaken by the seminar. This may seem like a lot of responsibility, but this committee is the core for strengthening the seminar’s academic years’ worth of funds. The marketing and fundraising committee is mostly there to assist the seminar’s funding by raising funds through donations, action activities and events. The committee is charged with developing and maintaining the integrated marketing plan and also developing policies and assessing the effectiveness of marketing strategies to meet the seminar’s financial goals.
The committee had high priorities this seminar one with events such as: weekly bake sales, to the big event; Jus D Vybz and the headache of finding sponsors for these activities. The marketing and fundraising committee has been quite successful in its endeavours in making these events/activities successful.
Conference day
The conference coordination committee is responsible for planning and successfully implementing the launch of the Seminar as well as to plan the activities of the one-day seminar in 2017. The committee has worked diligently along with research and publications committee on the conference day theme.
They are also in charge of planning the activities for the Conference day and soliciting sponsorship in association with the sponsorship committee. In addition, they have a lot to do with invitations for specially invited guests who will be speaking on Conference day. Overall, they seek to present the members of the seminar in such an unforgettable fashion. Also, the conference coordination committee has to ensure that all activities for seminar day are done in an exceptional manner such that the name of the Finance and Banking Programme is highly respected.



Professionalism
The Professionalism Committee is in charge of developing a multidisciplinary approach to advance the professionalism of the members, that is required of the seminar. The number one objective of this committee is to design and implement systems to ensure the professional, ethical and correct procedures are followed in order to facilitate the success of the seminar.
This committee enforce laws of the seminar in the pursuit of professional development for seminar members. They do so in an informative fashion, by spreading awareness of all procedural matters and identify violations of procedures and implement sanctions for behaviors inconsistent with correct procedures.
Faith and Outreach
The purpose of the Faith Mission and Outreach Committee, is to inspire, support, organize and mobilize the members of the seminar to share with others. They conduct all devotional exercises at seminar meetings.
They are charged with the responsibility of looking out for every member by planning, coordinating and participating in community service activities that make a significant contribution to the country as a whole.
The committee’s aimed at giving us a sense of awareness that we may see the importance of voluntarism among the Finance & Banking seminar. So at the end of the day, each member can appreciate the experience of of helping others and giving back to society through the seminar designating specific projects for outreach support.
As one who aims to produce the men and women for tomorrow, the Faith and Outreach committee identifies opportunities for community involvement and educates the seminar members about the importance of corporate social responsibility.
Operations
Generally the name “operations committee” can be a bit misleading. In some cases, the committee does not oversee day-to-day operations, but rather deals with operational functions from a strategic level. However, for the seminar, it serves as a counterpoint to handle work-flow and manage daily crises. The aim of this committee is to to provide the technology, equipment and materials needed for the effective conduct of all events of the Conference.
They are physically responsible for the setting up of locations for any event that is being held and also the responsibility for the use of the equipment and technology used for every event conducted. The operations’ chair provides governance and oversight for every operations program and its component projects and initiatives.These includes the sourcing of all support resources needed for the effective conduct of all Conference events in a timely and efficient manner.


Sponsorship
The Sponsorship committee’s goal is to generate exposure for the seminar and its members throughout the academic year. The committee is responsible for promoting events of the seminar by building networks and develop high level contacts.They have the opportunity to form strong business connections and professional relationships on behalf of the seminar. In addition, they seek to solicit sponsors for the seminar programs and other events. A goal of the committee, consist of designing sponsor packages to invite sponsors to aid the seminar body in obtaining sponsorship for 50% of the seminar’s annual budget and in the end seek sponsorship for the launch of the seminar.
The team aims to deliver valuable sponsors and contact information to the seminar body from networks such as: corporate communications, publishing, digital media, advertising, TV and universities.
Secretariats
The secretariat committee is entrusted with administrative duties, maintaining records, and overseeing or performing secretarial duties as it relates to other committees. Their aim is to ensure that accurate and up-to-date documentation of all conference planning and implementation activities is kept and made readily available on demand.
The role of the committee is to support the seminar by ensuring smooth performance of meetings. In addition, they ensure that meetings are effectively organized and minutes of the meetings are kept in order to maintain compliance. The Secretariat committee often acts as an information reference point to the seminar chair and other committee members. Clarifying past practice and decisions confirming what is required and retrieving relevant documents.
